I've just spent all day keeping Chris and Sadie distracted. Sadie keeps asking when mum and dad and Lou will be coming home I think we've played every card game known to mankind.

Please. Somebody save me. I can't play another game of Go Fish or I'll Go Mad.

I'd really rather have been at the school helping with everything, but-

Warded Private.
I keep waiting for a message from the Headmaster, telling me that my badge is being given to a Slytherin because I've not been doing what's asked of me in my classes, because I've been refusing to cast the cruciatus and had more detentions in the last month than in all five and a half years before now. Why haven't they taken it yet? I figured that the moment I stepped out of line, stopped doing everything that was expected of me as a Prefect, they would have snapped my badge up and given it to one of their pets. But I still have it.

I think I'm the only one left in the Resistance who has one. I guess, technically, Parvati and Padma still have their badges, but they're missing or disappeared or hiding or something, so they can't actually use them. Not that I've been using mine, really.

I should do something with it, while I still can.

Warded to the Resistance.
I think I'm the only one left who has a Prefect badge. I think we should do something about that, before it gets taken away.

Warded to Vicky.
Since we both have the afternoon free, do you want to do something? Before the torture starts back up this week

I always wondered what I'd look like with blond hair.

Dunno why it's suddenly longer, but I'm thinking I'll be glad when it goes back to normal.

This'll wash out, right?

Warded to G6 minus Ian.
Has anyone gotten in to see Ian yet? Or heard anything about him? It was a madhouse up there when I brought sheets and towels and stuff up to the hospital wing, I didn't want to stay and just get in the way.

Warded Private.
I know the Aurors haven't exactly been doing much to "protect" us, but why would they have just started attacking like that? It doesn't make sense.

And if that's what Aurors are, I don't know if I want to be one anymore. I doubt I'd have been a good one, anyway, not after that detention last week. I'll just find dad after the war, let him teach me archaeology. Go somewhere like South America and just spend all day digging around.

I wonder if it's too late to pick up Ancient Runes. Probably is. Maybe Vicky could teach me.

I wish I could send Chris and Sadie somewhere far away over Easter hols. I don't want to be worrying about them all the time.

And all this is almost enough to make me forget that I got bloody crucioed in class today. At least it ended up being only Bobbin and Vaisey.

Alright, whoever gave Sadie some Whammo! to drink yesterday, I don't know if I should thank you or hunt you down and hurt you. She's been bouncing around all morning, and I think if she keeps vibrating as much as she has been, she's going to knock her brains loose or something. But on the flipside, this is the happiest I've seen her in months Chris and I took her out to the courtyard after breakfast this morning and tossed a ball back and forth between ourselves for a while, with Sadie running between us trying to grab it. We're trying to see if we can wear her out enough so she actually sleeps tonight. Anyone in Hufflepuff know if she slept last night?

Running into a tree hurts like hell. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Warded to G6.
Could someone bring me back something for dinner? Pomfrey told me to stay off my knee as much as possible, and I don't feel like navigating stairs right now, anyway. Vicky, Brownie, thanks for the help to the hospital wing.

Warded Private.
Bang up couple of weeks. I don't exactly want to learn how to cast the imperius, so I've been faking it since I don't want to give them reason to take my badge away yet, useless piece of metal it is. I could have managed detention last week, I think, but I can't take the risk of them punishing Chris or Sadie this week if I don't at least fake it. I don't know what I'm going to do when faking it isn't enough, or when we move on to the others.

I know Neville got me into the Resistance, but I don't know what I can do to help with anything they're talking about doing. Which is probably the painkillers talking. I hate the Carrows. Muggle olympians don't sled down hills with trees. And if they do, they're trained enough to avoid the trees and padded enough that it doesn't matter so much if you run into them.

I know that TORTURE isn't anything new at school this year, but doing it in front of CHILDREN and TERRIFYING THEM OUT OF THEIR MINDS? IT'S NOT OKAY TO TORTURE STUDENTS AND IT'S REALLY NOT OKAY TO EXPOSE CHILDREN TO THIS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO BE ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

Hey, can you do me a favour?

Hufflepuffs, you've got a nice house down here, though I still think Gryffindor has the best common room.

As interesting and ... educational as it was to be a bird for a day, I'm glad to be myself again. Helping clean up swamps today was considerably less fun.

Do any of you know what's going on? That bracelet that Sarah gave us lit up hours ago, twice, and next thing I know, Brownie's looking for Ernie Macmillan, and I haven't heard anything from anyone about what's going on.

Are you lot all okay?

010. 24 December, 1997 [24 Dec 2010|10:43am]
When we were little, my brother and sisters and I hated Christmas Eve. It always felt like the longest day in the world, and we were impatient for it to be over so that Christmas morning could just come already. But mum and dad always had these great traditions to make the day seem not quite as long. As soon as we got up, mum would enlist us to help bake Christmas biscuits for Santa. Even when we were so young that we were more likely to make a mess than to be a help, we still helped. And always got to "sample" a few or more of the biscuits. As soon as it started getting dark, dad would take us walking to look at all the houses that were all lit up and decorated for Christmas, and mum would have hot cocoa waiting for us when we got home. We'd change into our pajamas, curl up in the sitting room with our cocoa, and mum would read us Christmas stories until we started falling asleep. And before we knew it, it was Christmas morning.

Anyone else have any happy Christmas traditions they want to share?

Warded to G6.
Happy Christmas Eve, you lot. It's a little depressing that I'm suddenly thinking that the "happy" part is just because I managed to open up the paper this morning and not see the names of anyone we know splashed all over the headlines. Who'd have thought that Hogwarts would actually be safer than being out here? And speaking of safer, you're all keeping safe, yeah? I'd really like to see all of you in one piece when we get back to school in January.

Warded Private.
Never thought I'd actually be glad that mum, dad, and Lou are off Merlin knows where. Miss them like hell, now that we're with the grandparents who don't know what to do with us suddenly in the house for Christmas. But at least they're hopefully safer, wherever they are. At least mum's not in Azkaban. At least they're not having werewolves set on them. And I guess all I can do is hope that they're staying safe and that wherever they are, they're reading the paper. And hopefully when this is all over, they'll be able to come back.

Warded Private.
So, apparently the grandparents didn't know we were planning to come for the hols. Which means they never got my letter. Which I was starting to expect. Not too surprising that my mail's not going through, since mum and dad are on the run with Lou. Punishment or something like that, I don't know, it's not like I could be communicating with them anyway, since I have no idea where they are. But the grandparents're happy to have us, anyway. I just wish I could convince Chris and Sadie to stay here after the hols. Of course, Sadie just wants to go home, but with mum and dad gone, I don't want to see what kind of state the house might be in.

Warded to Vicky.
Thank you, again, for helping us get to my grandparents' house, and also thank your parents for me again?

So, since I'm home now and have access to some of the better pictures of my siblings, I thought I'd throw in a few choice pictures of them.

All pictures are magical. )

My eleven-year-old sister has just informed me that now that she's had her very first kiss, she is very much a grown-up now and would like me and Chris to treat her as such.

Are all little sisters like this, or did I just get the special one?

Anyone else notice our visitors in the Common Room today? I have to admit to watching them for a while, and I'm pretty damned sure they were placing spells around the commons to monitor our conversations. Or at least that's what it looks like, and these are the kinds of things I've been looking at on my own over the hols for years, since we've never had that consistent a Defense professor.

Any of you hear anything about it happening in any other houses? I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing something similar to Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

Warded to Ginny.
However it was you happened to hear about the raids beforehand, you might want to give them the heads-up about this. Unless you've already heard about this from them.

Warded to Vicky.
First, I don't think I've said it yet, but you've got one heck of a bodybind hex.

Second, I wonder if this is the sort of stuff I'll end up doing if when I become an Auror: spying on teenagers.

Third, hi. How are you?

Seeing the schedule for the Thespian Club has just reminded me of why I'm depriving the school of what would clearly be a great acting talent (insert snickers here): you lot are going to be run ragged by the time you finally wow us with this production.

Warded to Gryffindor.
You all may have noticed the Aurors lurking around the Common Room today. We think they may have been putting up spells to monitor our conversations in the commons.

Well, classes today were certainly interesting.

Warded to Gryffindor 6.
First we have to find a gruesome and violent article, then we get to show off our battle wounds. I think I'm sensing a theme here. Fuzzy kittens, right? That's the theme of this week's Carrow classes, right?

Is this where I say
That just for today
I am a bit of a poet
And I just didn't know it?
How long will this last?
Has anyone asked?
All this rhyming is really hard
Because I really am not a bard.

I want to test this out
See what it's all about
As I wonder with merriment
What happens if I experiment
And try to rhyme something with orange?

So. Hi.

Okay, wonderful denizens of Hogwarts. I have a very important question of dire importance that must be answered.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

I mean, first of all, why is it called a woodchuck if it can't chuck wood? That just seems cruel. And secondly, if it could live up to its name, how skilled would it be at chucking wood? Would it be a huge show off and just chuck wood all the time because it could?

These are important questions, people!
